Q)
Is the Dominator antenna used at FCC licensed
installations?
A)
The
Dominator NWE-34 is in use at many FCC licensed LPFM and
Translator facilities. The NWE-34 antenna is listed on the
FCC CDBS database under ID # 86494. Due to archaic FCC
rules most full power US commercial stations are unable to
take advantage of linear vertical polarization. The
FCC usually limits vertical polarization to LPFM and
Translator stations in the USA. Some exceptions include
tower maintenance and temporary or emergency backup use.
Many other countries have conducted tests revealing the
benefits of vertical only polarization and do not impose
these restrictions. For more info on this please visit the
Polarization
Info page by clicking on the underlined link.

Q)
What connectors do you offer on your antennas?
A) The standard 1
kilowatt model is available in either N
or SO-239.
3 KW versions are available with 7/16"
DIN. To view the actual connectors, click on
the underlined links. All connectors are silver body and
Teflon insulated.

Q)
How is your antenna mounted?
A)
The antenna is easily mounted using the supplied 1-1/2
inch U-Bolts. It can me mounted to standard mast or to the
top of a tower. The preferred method is to top mount the
antenna. In some applications this is not possible due to
other antennas occupying this location, lightning rods, or
tower beacons. Dominator antennas can be side mounted when
required. Tower standoff distance is 48 inches with a wide
range of common tower brackets available for this use. |
